Day 23: HARD work
On Friday half the group was going back to CCJ to paint some
more, and the other half was going to go on Saturday.
I was going to go on Saturday but instead I felt guilty not
going both days and went on Friday as well. When we got there Jordan said we
only needed to paint two rooms. We began painting and it was going really well,
we were all moving at a fast pace.
Then we thought it’d be a good idea to do another room, just
to completely finish the job instead of coming back on Saturday too. By this
time, people were tired, especially poor Jordan, who had been our boss the
whole time. He spilled a can of paint on his shoes, so I washed his shoes for
him and Danilo’s while the paint was still wet, because if that paint dried
they would have gold shoes.
We worked hard to get the job done quickly. When we finished
the CCJ building looked a billion times cleaner. There were something’s that
they could have done themselves to keep the place neat, for example just going
over the doors with a drag to get the dirt off of them. There is a lack of
importance with cleanliness in areas like this. I think the biggest thing we
could have done for them is teach them how necessary it is to clean.
